The W offers a K-6 licensure route. Under the K-6 licensure route, you will choose two concentration areas from English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. You also have the option to obtain licensure endorsements to teach your selected concentration areas in grades 7-12.
For those who would rather teach a certain subject or an older age range, we offer secondary and specialty programs. The specialty licensure routes of Music, Spanish, and Theatre allow you to teach the respective subject in grades K-12.
Education is one of the most rewarding fields of study. As an educator, you will touch many lives. You will not only encourage children to explore their dreams, but give them the tools to do so. The Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is the only agency in the state which can grant Teaching Licenses. The School of Education at The W can help you meet the qualifications to become a teacher.
