Welcome to Campus!

Welcome! We're so glad you are living on campus! We've developed the plan for move-in to provide you a safe transition.Each resident has been assigned a move-in date and time. Check your email for your assignment and additional details.

What to Bring

Move In Day Process

The staff and campus community will be working together on move-in day to provide all the information that you will need.

Look for signs that will direct you. As a part of your check-in, you will receive a schedule of the events for the first few days. Students will have several of activities, known as Blues Week, to keep them occupied as they adjust to new college life.

Tobacco Free Campus

Please Note: The W campus is a tobacco free campus. The use of cigarettes, chewing tobacco, vape devices, and the like, is prohibited anywhere on campus, including outdoors. This policy applies to students, faculty, staff, and all visitors. Thank you for helping make The W a healthy environment for everyone!

Before you arrive:

  1. Review the “What to Bring List” at https://www.muw.edu/housing/resources/movingin/whattobring/
    1. Note items that you might not have thought to pack, such as masks and a thermometer
  2. Review your assigned Move-in date/time and contact housing@muw.edu if you need to request an alternative
  3. Review your travel arrangements and contact housing@muw.edu if you have traveled or plan to travel internationally 14 days prior to your assigned move-in

Move-In Day

Dollies and carts will be available for limited use on your move-in day, but we will not be able to offer volunteer and/or staff to assist with your unloading. Students will be allowed 2 guests (no children) to assist with their unloading and unpacking, during their assigned date and time. Outside guest assistance will not be permitted after your move-in window has closed.

To complete check-in, you will:

  1. Arrive on campus during your assigned time and follow the traffic and parking directions to your building
  2. Check-in with the Housing staff in your assigned lobby
  3. Unload in the designated unloading zone (you will have limited time in the unloading zone)
    1. Follow directional signage on the use of elevators and stairs
  4. Before you start unpacking, move your vehicle into a student parking space. During move-in days Callaway Parking Lot, and the parking spots in the front of Jones and Kincannon Halls are for Unloading only.

Offices Open on Move-In Day

Financial Aid: Welty Hall 1st Floor, M-F, 8am-5pm
Barnes & Nobel Bookstore: Hogarth Student Center, M-F, 8am-6pm
University Accounting: Welty Hall 1st Floor, M-F, 8 am-5 pm
Police/ID Making: McDevitt Hall (across from Subway), M-F, 8am-5pm
