Housing and Residence Life offers an enhanced living experience through several themed learning communities within our residence halls. These communities have been designed to group students with like interests in a living environment that helps them connect with each other and build meaningful relationships with students who have similar interests and goals.
Located in Callaway and Columbus Halls, this community is designed to provide current ASN and BSN nursing students an opportunity to live and study together. By participating in the Nursing Community, students will boost their chances of academic success, get to know their classmates better, build lasting friendships, and have the opportunity to broaden their experiences.
This community, housed in Callaway and Columbus Halls, offers current members of social and Greek organizations the opportunity to live as part of their affinity group while promoting the pillars of social organizations: scholarship, leadership, and service. Placement into this community is coordinated through social and Greek councils each spring.
A freshman and sophomore community, located in Grossnickle Hall, the RHP offers a classic living learning experience for students who are part of the Ina E. Gordy Honors College. Through coordinated class scheduling, study abroad, faculty interaction, and peer mentorship, this LLC supports students in their academic pursuits.
The Women's College Living Learning Community is open to all students participating in the Women's College. The Women’s College is dedicated to provide unique opportunities for the intellectual and personal development of students who have demonstrated exemplary academic ability and interest.
Live with others who understand what it is like to be a culinary student and experience a flair of cooking in the residence halls. Whether you're an experienced chef or learning to make ramen, being connected to other people who share a passion for cooking can help you develop your skills. Cooking is an essential skill that college students only sometimes get the chance to create with their busy school and social lives. Students establish a strong network of peers, faculty, staff, community partners, and alumni, enabling them to further cultivate their individual hospitality and culinary skillset.
The Leadership and Service LLC familiarizes students with the University's values, increases awareness of student leadership opportunities across campus, and provides a supportive, inclusive environment allowing for exploration of leadership theory and student potential through self-assessment, peer-led discussions, and experiential opportunities. Students establish a strong network of peers, faculty, staff, community partners, and alumni, enabling them to further cultivate their individual leadership style.
