Independent Study in Biology or Microbiology
Earn course credit for lab research in BSB 499 or BSM 499

Beginning in your junior year, biology majors may apply to conduct research under the direction of a member of the Dept. of Sciences and Mathematics faculty for course credit.
Students will conduct individualized descriptive or experimental research projects or directed readings under the direction of a faculty member serving as the project director, with two additional university faculty members approved the the Sciences and Mathematics Department Chair serving as committee members.
As a requirement of this course, students may be required to submit a written report or oral presentation on their activities during the semester to be reviewed and approved by the researchers committee.
The Independent Study in Biology or Microbiology may be taken for 1-4 hours per semester and can be repeated for up to 8 hours credit.
