The beginning of a new semester means new faces on campus. Several new faculty members have joined The W this fall. They include:

Dr. Entidhar Al-Rashid is a visiting assistant professor of English. She earned her Master of Arts in English Literature from Missouri State University and her PhD in English Literature from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Dr. Alison Buehler is an assistant professor of special education. She received her Master of Arts in special education and rehabilitation from the University of Arizona, Tucson and her Doctor’s of education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Dr. Jianwen Crump is an assistant professor of speech-language pathology. She received her Master of Arts in speech-language pathology from Louisiana Tech University and her Specialist and Doctor of education both from William Carey University.

Dr. Christy Davis is an instructor of graduate nursing. She received her Master of Science in nursing and Doctor of nursing practice from The W. She also received an endocrinology specialty certification from Duke University.

Dr. Kristen Figgins is an assistant professor of English/teacher studies. She received her Master of Arts in English from the University of Louisiana and her Doctorate in English from the University of Arkansas.

Emily Ford is the Jumpstart coordinator and visiting instructor of education. She received her Master of Science in instructional curriculum and leadership and K-12 technology integration certificate from the University of Memphis.

Jordan Funderburk is an instructor of baccalaureate nursing. She received her Masters in nursing from the University of North Alabama.  

Georgia Graham is an instructor of early childhood education and director of the Child Parent Development Center. She received her Master of Science in human development and family science from Mississippi State University.

Ragan Jeffreys is an instructor of accounting. She earned her Masters of accountancy from the University of Alabama.

Dr. Zane Lynn is an instructor of voice. He received his Master of music from the University of Mississippi and his Doctor of worship studies from the Institute for Worship Studies.

Dr. Douglas Mark is an associate professor of brass. He received his Master of music from the New England Conservatory, a special certificate from Conservatoire Nationale-Régionnale de Musique in Rueil-Malmaison, France. He earned his Doctor of musical arts in trombone performance and literature from Eastman School of Music.

Lindsey Phyfer is an instructor of baccalaureate nursing. She received her Master of Science in nursing, primary care nurse practitioner from Auburn University.

Tabitha Pilkington is an instructor of baccalaureate nursing. She received her Master of Science in nursing education from the University of North Alabama. She also served as an adjunct clinical instructor at The W’s Tupelo campus.

Dr. Sarah Poiani is an assistant professor of mathematics and Emma Sadler Moss Chair. She earned her Master of Science and Doctorate in mathematics from the University of New Mexico.

Melissa Reeves is an instructor of music education/director of bands. She received her Master of music with an emphasis in music education from the University of Mississippi.

Kymara Sneed is an assistant professor of history. She received her Master of Arts in history from the University of West Georgia and is a Ph.D. candidate at Mississippi State University.

Kelly Woodford is the dean of the College of Business and Professional Studies and professor of legal studies. She earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University.
