The W to host healthcare career fair
Mississippi University for Women’s Career Services and Professional Development Center will welcome employers and graduate schools from across the country for the healthcare career fair, Thursday, Feb. 6 from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., in Pohl Gymnasium.

Employers and graduate school programs will set up booths to show students what opportunities are available in the healthcare field, as well as recruiting the next generation of professionals.
“One of the greatest benefits of students attending the career fair is the opportunity to network with a diverse group of employers in the same setting. We know that our nurses have a great hire rating upon graduation, and I want to make sure that we are exposing our students to a variety of employers,” said Elise Wilson, director of the CSPD Center.
Currently, there are 29 employers and schools registered for the event.
Registration for this event is being held via Handshake. The registration link can be found by going to www.muw.edu/careerservices. The cost to attend is $150 and includes box lunches for up to two recruiters. Additional recruiters may attend for $25 each.
For employers and graduate programs who are interested but not registered, there is still time. Registration for employers and schools will close Thursday, Jan. 30. After that date, interested parties must reach out to careers@muw.edu or call (662) 241-7619 to register.
Students should also register via the link on the CSPD Center website and their admission is free. Faculty will remind students to register and attend as the event date approaches.
“This event is so successful because of our partnership with the Vandergriff College of Nursing & Health Sciences faculty. Dr. Brandy Larmon does a wonderful job of communicating this event to faculty members who support their students’ attendance immensely,” said Wilson.
