The Culinary Arts Institute at Mississippi University for Women is launching a new luncheon series titled, “Savor The W,” a premier three-part dining experience debuting this April. Designed to highlight fresh flavors, great company and the rising talent of future chefs, the series showcases the mastery and leadership of senior students as they transition from the classroom to professional practice.

Culinary Arts Building

“This luncheon series showcases the remarkable talent and leadership emerging from our senior culinary students,” said Dr. Tracee Watkins, director of the Culinary Arts Institute at The W. “Every menu reflects the students’ ideas, hard work and creativity, giving guests a unique opportunity to watch those concepts come to life. Fresh ingredients, great company and student leadership come together to create a dining experience that is polished and genuinely fun.”

Under the expert guidance of CAI faculty and consulting chef John Fitzgerald, Chef de Cuisine, Restaurant Tyler, students have conceptualized and will execute every element of the series—from themed menu development to final plate presentation.

Each event features a crafted three-course meal served at the Culinary Arts Institute. To maintain an intimate atmosphere, seating is limited to 50 guests per date. Each luncheon will cost $39. Mocktails will be offered at 11:30 a.m. with lunch to follow at noon.
