Society of Mississippi Archivists to hold annual meeting at The W
Archivists from across the state will converge on the campus of Mississippi University for Women, Thursday and Friday, March 27-28, for the annual meeting of the Society of Mississippi Archivists.
The theme of this year’s meeting is “Praise the Bridges that Carried Us Over”: Mississippi Women in the Archives.

“The theme of the Society’s annual meeting this year, ‘Mississippi Women in the Archives,’ is a perfect fit for hosting at the The W’s Library. We are proud to host their members in the same building where we champion Mississippi women’s history and leadership,” said Hillary Richardson, interim dean of library services at Fant Memorial Library.
The two-day event will feature a variety of activities and presentations for attendees.
The schedule includes presentations on Mamie Till-Mobley’s work in the Emmett Till Archives, court felony cases in Lowndes County, Will Campbell papers at University of Southern Mississippi and W alumna, Blanche Colton Williams, to name a few. The full schedule can be found online at mississippiarchivists.org/.
