“Think of our auction as more than just transactions with a digital gavel. It’s like a beautiful symphony of generosity, where every bid is like a supportive note, and every item up for grabs is a chance for something incredible to happen,” said MUWAA President Heather Fasciocco Stone. “When you participate as a sponsor, bidder or contributing an auction item, you’re not just donating; we’re building bridges to knowledge and opportunities. What we’re doing here leaves a legacy that echoes through generations. So, let’s see our bids as the bricks and mortar of our vision, a place where scholarships and transformation come together, paving the way for a renewed and inspired tomorrow.”

The auction raises funds for scholarships, faculty grants and other projects, including the renovation of historic Shattuck Hall.

The Long Blue Line is a reference to alumni of The W. While it initially references the blue uniforms worn by early attendees of the university, for alumni and students, it represents being a part of the tradition of excellence that continues at the university.

Hosted by the MUW Alumni Association, the auction consists of a variety of items, from hot-ticket vacations and artwork to items starting with bids as low as $5. Jewelry to pottery, clothing to coffee mugs, the auction consists of donated items with something for everyone and every budget.

“This year’s auction is shaping up to be another good one,” said Katy Canion Pacelli, lead chair of the annual event. “One of my favorite parts of the auction is trying to guess what piece will be the ‘hot ticket’ item that people will be bidding on and talking about on Facebook. There is truly something for everyone in this auction, so save up a few dollars and get ready to bid.  Don’t forget – all money raised supports the MUW Alumni Association and the work we do to support the university.”

The Long Blue Line Auction is not just for alumni, it is for anyone who loves The W, knows someone who loves The W, or just loves auctions with great items! It is a great opportunity to promote local artists and businesses while supporting the continued expansion of the Long Blue Line.
