The 10th annual Long Blue Line Auction, a scholarship fundraiser hosted by the Mississippi University Alumni Association, will be held in a completely virtual format Sept. 23-24.

“Supporting the next generation of Mississippi University for Women alumni through MUW Foundation scholarships is the goal of the Long Blue Line Auction,” said Mississippi University for Women Alumni Association President Symone Bounds. “This online event allows everyone to bid on a variety of items and, with the purchase of items, contribute to raising funds for scholarships at The W.”

Hosted by the MUWAA, the Long Blue Line Auction is named so in reference to the blue uniforms worn by earlier students at the university and the blue color favored by graduates of The W. To keep that line growing, the Long Blue Line Auction features a large variety of donated items including artwork, jewelry, vintage W memorabilia and even a weeklong stay in a beach house at Nags Head, North Carolina, among other vacation destination packages that will be up for bid this year.

“The list of items up for bid in the auction continues to grow,” said Katy Canion Pacelli, a past MUWAA president and chair of the special events committee which organizes the Long Blue Line Auction. “We welcome monetary donations which can be made through the auction platform to add to scholarship funds raised through the Long Blue Line Auction.”
