The Department of History, Political Science, and Geography provides a broad liberal arts education for all students and seeks to be a model for the campus in how to promote learning by doing. Our goal is to help students become intellectually curious, life-long learners who can find and form answers for themselves. Our courses emphasize reading, writing, and critical thinking, and whenever possible we seek to have students engage in meaningful research work. It is the Department’s mission to ensure that students majoring in History, Political Science, and Interdisciplinary Studies become analytical thinkers and effective oral and written communicators, who understand how their major connects to the larger world.
Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information about the benefits of study in one of our programs or with any questions you may have.
