District 39 Rep. Dana McLean stands at a podium with President Nora Miller by her side

To celebrate more than 140 years of history, alumni and university representatives gathered on the steps of the Mississippi State Capitol. Before the gathering, President Nora Miller was surprised with House Resolution No. 99, presented by District 39 Rep. Dana McLean, which commends her for her distinguished service as president of The W and for her contributions to higher education in the state of Mississippi.

Miller is set to retire at the end of June after two terms as president of the University.
