Lauren Jee

Principal Deputy Director at the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), United States Department of Health and Human Services

2010 Graduate of the Gordy Honors College  

Originally from the Delta, Lauren was a member of the Gordy Residential Honors Program. At OCR, she leads budget, operations, and strategic planning and works with OCR’s 11 national offices. Previously she served as Chief of Staff at OCR and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Mandatory Health Programs at the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Legislation. Before that, she served eight years in the U.S. Senate, working as the Senior Health Policy Counsel for U.S. Senator Benjamin L. Cardin, Health Counsel for U.S Senator Richard Blumenthal, and Legislative Counsel for U.S. Senator Mazie K. Hirono on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
