Faculty Research and Creative Activity Awards are intended as an opportunity for The W to recognize faculty research and creative activity and the impact that research and creative activity has on scholarship beyond The W community. Research and Creative Activity Awards range from early career research and creative activity to sustained research and creative activity over the course of an academic career. Faculty Research and Creative Activity Awards are determined through a nomination process by The W Community and selected after review by the Faculty Research Committee (FRC). Awards will be distributed at the Faculty Research and Creative Activity Gala. Eligibility requirements for the awards available are listed below.

The Leadership in Research and Creative Activity Award is designed to recognize faculty who have maintained a research or creative program for at least five years while working at The W. Faculty members who have made a significant contribution to their field during their time at The W.
AWARD AMOUNT: $500
The Excellence in Creative Activity Award recognizes faculty whose publications, performances, and or exhibitions in literary or creative arts have made a sustained contribution to their field.
AWARD AMOUNT: $500
The Excellence in Research Award recognizes faculty whose publications, presentations, and or programs in the physical or social sciences have made a sustained contribution to their field.
AWARD AMOUNT: $500
The Early Career Award recognizes new faculty for demonstrating the potential for a sustained program of scholarly activity in their field while working at The W. Their program may be in any area of research or creative activity. Nominees should have no more than ten years since earning the terminal degree in their field and must have been employed at The W for at least one year.
AWARD AMOUNT: $500
The Teacher Scholar Award is designed to recognize early or mid-career faculty member for the development and/or implementation of new teaching methods or course designs that were generated through scholarship or specific research in pedagogical practices and strategies.
