Prospective international freshman (first-year) students who plan to enroll at Mississippi University for Women (The W) for the Fall semester and who are not eligible to submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may be considered for the International Freshman Merit Scholarship (IFMS).
The International Freshman Merit Scholarship (IFMS) is a merit-based scholarship awarded based on the student’s academic credentials, including ACT or SAT scores and cumulative grade point average (GPA). The minimum eligibility requirements mirror those of the Freshman Franklin Scholarship.
The scholarship award is $3,000 per academic year.
No separate scholarship application is required. All incoming international freshman students will be automatically evaluated for eligibility upon admission to The W based on their academic credentials.
The IFMS is available to eligible international freshman students entering The W for the Fall semester only.
International transfer students are eligible for institutional scholarships at the point of admission.
In addition to the academic and need-based scholarships that are awarded to you during the admissions process, many of the academic programs and departments at The W have separate scholarships that are exclusively for their majors. These scholarships have their own application, deadline, and selection process.
