The beginning of a new semester means new faces on campus. Several new faculty members, along with some returning, will join The W this fall, they include:

Dr. Courtney Boatwright

Dr. Courtney Boatwright is an instructor of graduate nursing. She earned both her Doctor of Nursing Practice and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She also works part-time as a nurse practitioner at Otolaryngology Associates in Columbus.

Dr. Kacey Bounds is an assistant professor of education/reading. She received her doctorate from Northcentral University in Prescott, Arizona, and her Master of Science in Elementary and Special Education from William Carey University.

Ashley Brown is an instructor of baccalaureate nursing. She received her Master of Science in Nursing Education from The University of Alabama. She worked as a registered nurse/charge nurse before moving into the academic field.

Josie Buford is an instructor of associate nursing. She received her Master and Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She has worked as a registered nurse since 2022, including at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.

Elizabeth Cole is an instructor of baccalaureate nursing. She received her Master of Science Adult-Gero Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. She has over eight years of military experience as well as being a licensed nurse practitioner.

Meagan Miles is an undergraduate nursing success and wellness coordinator. She received her Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Belhaven University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The W.

Rachel Pitman is a visiting assistant professor of culinary arts. She earned her Masters of Science in Hospitality Management from The University of Mississippi and her Bachelor of Science in Culinary Arts from The W. She previously served as the executive chef and catering manager for Sodexo, The W’s dining services provider.
