Specialty Education (K–12)

Teach Your Passion Across All Grade Levels

The Specialty Education programs at The W prepare teachers to share their talents in Music (vocal or instrumental) or Theatre with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Candidates complete a degree in their chosen discipline while fulfilling the professional education coursework required for teacher licensure.

These programs are housed within the College of Arts & Sciences. Students focus on their subject area, earning a BM in Music Education or BA in Theatre Education, and complete the licensure courses that lead to certification in Mississippi. For specific degree requirements, consult the Music or Theatre programs.
