Inspire Through Music
Music Education (K–12)
Teach Your Passion Across All Grade Levels
The Music Education program at The W prepares future educators to teach and inspire students in K–12 music classrooms. With a strong foundation in both music content and instructional practice, candidates develop the skills needed to lead engaging, standards-based music instruction. Through coursework and field-based experiences, students gain hands-on experience in classroom management, performance instruction, and music pedagogy.
These programs are housed within the College of Arts & Sciences. Students focus on their subject area, earning a BM in Music Education, and complete the licensure courses that lead to certification in Mississippi. For specific degree requirements, consult the Music department.
