About Dr. Hatton
Since 1992, Dr. Hatton has served as faculty and in various administrative roles, including department chair, institutional accreditation liaison, associate vice president for academic affairs, director of graduate studies, and dean.
Areas of Specialization:
Higher education leadership, media literacy education, social cognition and interpersonal interactions.
Research Interests:
Media literacy education, specifically the impact of the uses of technology on interpersonal dynamics and learning.

Rhetoric’s responsibility to media literacy: Critical impulse for judging visual metaphors in rhetorical texts. Paper presented at the 2002 Rhetorical Society of America’s annual conference, Rhetorical Democracy: Discursive Practices of Civic Engagement, Las Vegas, NV.
