We’re delighted to welcome you to the School of Education’s website and to share why we are the best choice for students seeking an educator preparation program that recognizes and builds on their unique strengths as future teachers. Our programs are thoughtfully crafted to support your individual goals, foster your growth, and prepare you to make a meaningful impact in classrooms and communities.

Supporting our current students is our first priority. This is our foundation. Everything else we will do depends on providing the very best support for the next generation of educators. We excel at providing personalized support strategies that foster academic, professional, and reflective growth. We have been successful in doing so by building a strong sense of belonging and engagement through community-building initiatives, identifying and removing unnecessary barriers while implementing supportive measures that promote program completion, and extending layers of professional mentorship into our student teaching experiences.

Creating academic program pathways that prepare students for today’s educational opportunities is critically important to us. Innovating programming requires a certain degree of nimbleness—something we’ve consistently demonstrated and take pride in mastering.

Our specialty lies in creating accessible, supportive pathways for those who aspire to become teachers but are unsure where to begin. We’ve been particularly successful with the following initiatives:

We invite you to visit campus with your group and experience the W Difference firsthand. Designed specifically for high school educator preparation programs and community colleges, these events provide tailored experiences that meet the unique needs of each group.

We offer targeted pathways to support Assistant Teachers in advancing toward licensure. Our programming is designed to meet you where you are and help you take the next step in your professional journey.

Through our Anchor-Points Partnerships, we provide structured, personalized support for students transferring from community colleges into our programs, making the transition clear, smooth, and achievable.

We partner with school districts to provide customized information sessions for teachers and staff interested in our programs. These meetings are designed to support recruitment, answer questions, and explore pathways into the profession.

If you’re new to the School of Education at The W, you’re about to discover a world of exciting opportunities designed to help you reach your goal of becoming an educator.

Take some time to explore our website. Connect with people you trust—current students in our programs, our world-class W alumni, and others who know us well, and imagine the impact you can make as an educator.

When you’re ready, reach out to our advising Navigator, Christi Dillon. She’ll guide you through the next steps and answer any questions you may have about joining our vibrant community of future educators
