Whitney Rio-Ross is a Tennessee native who lives in Nashville, where she serves as poetry editor for Fare Foreward. Her debut poetry collection, thunder makes us, explores heritage, faith, and womanhood in the South. She holds a Masters in Religion and Literature from Yale Divinity School, and she has published poems and essays in Barely South Review, Stonecoast Review, Only Poems Daily, The Pinch, and many other journals. Her chapbook Birthmarks was published in 2020 by Wipe & Stock.
