Born and raised in Michigan, Marcus Wicker now lives in Memphis and teaches poetry in the MFA program of the University of Memphis, where he also founded the Memphis Writing Workshop, an open-air community writing space. He is the author of three poetry collections Dear Mothership, Silencer, and Maybe the Saddest Thing, which was selected by D.A. Powell for the National Poetry Series.
