Justin Wymer was born and raised in West Virginia, and now teaches creative writing at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. He has described Let the Forrest Go as a memoir in poetic prose, centered around two years spent working in Spain and reflecting on the American and West Virginian culture he left behind. His debut collection of poetry, Deed, won the 2018 Antivenom Poetry Award.
