David Armand was born and raised in Louisiana, where he is Associate Professor of Writing at Southeastern Louisiana University and is the 2022 recipient of the Louisiana Writer Award. Walk the Night his his twelfth book. In addition to Walk the Night, he has published four previous novels, The Pugilisits’ Wife, Harlow, The Gorge, and The Lord’s Acre; four collections of poetry The Deep Woods, Debt, The Evangelist, and Poverty; and three memoirs My Mother’s House, Mirrors and Other Reflections, and The Roads We Travel, which also doubles as a book on writing.
