Mike Smith, Associate Professor of English at Delta State, will read from his memoir, And There was Evening and There was Morning, in which he recounts his journey through grief after first wife’s diagnosis with terminal breast cancer and the subsequent cancer diagnosis of his step-daughter from his second marriage.Smith is also a poet, whose books include Pocket Guide to Another Earth, Byron in Baghdad, How to Make a Mummy, and Multiverse. He has also co-edited and translated Contemporary Chinese Short-Short Stories: A Parallel Text and translated Goethe’s Faust, Part I.
