David A. Davis, a Georgia native, teaches English at Mercer University and is Associate Director of the Spencer B. King, Jr. Center for Southern Studies. He presents his Eudora Welty Prize-wining study World War I and Southern Modernism, exploring the effects of the Great War on Southern writers. He has also edited the reprint of Victor Daly’s novel Not Only War: A Story of Two Great Conflicts and John L. Spivak’s novel Hard Times on a Southern Chain Gang. He is also co-editor of Writing in the Kitchen: Essays on Southern Literature and Foodways.
