Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Service Awards are intended as an opportunity for The W to recognize faculty and instructors for their work in teaching, advising, and service to the university and their fields at large. Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Service Awards are determined through a nomination process by The W Community and selected after review by the Kossen Center for Teaching & Learning. Awards will be distributed at the Faculty Excellence in Teaching and Service Luncheon.

New Faculty Teaching Award
The New Faculty Teaching Award recognizes new faculty who are committed to providing accommodating and engaging instruction for students in their courses, regardless of format.

- At least 1 year of employment at The W, but no more than 5
- Full-time
- Has not received the award previously
- Award Amount: $500
Faculty Service Award
The Faculty Service Award recognizes faculty who have contributed outstanding professional service to the University and/or community. Service is defined as the contribution of the faculty member’s expertise in his or her discipline to worthwhile efforts of the university, community, educational, environmental, business and economic life of the community.

Faculty Advising Award
The Faculty Advising Award recognizes faculty who have made a significant contribution to academic advising in their departments and are committed to engaging their advisees throughout their time being advised.

Excellence in Online Teaching Award
The Excellence in Online Teaching Award recognizes exceptional online teaching practices and significant contributions to the design, development, and delivery of student-centered online teaching and learning. Nominees demonstrate the impact of well-designed, high-quality digital course materials and show evidence of sustained excellence and innovation in online teaching practices that support student engagement, student learning gains, and student satisfaction.
