Adam Vines edits Birmingham Poetry Review, teaches poetry, and directs the Master’s in Creative Writing program at the University of Alabama Birmingham. His poetry collections include Lures, Out of Speech, The Coal Life, and two books in collaboration with fellow poet Allen Jin: According to Discretion and Day Kink. Vines grew up in the coal country of northwest Alabama, and is avid fisherman.
