Welcome to the The W's student literary magazine, The Dilettanti. This is a magazine produced by and for the students of The W. Student editors are chosen each year, and submissions are solicited from current students.

We are always looking for students to assist with production. Please contact our advisor or one of the editors if you are interested in working on the magazine. Send email or a letter stating what you would be interested in doing, and most importantly, how we can contact you when production begins on this year's issue.

How to Submit

The Dilettanti is accepting submissions of the following:

  • Fiction
  • Creative Non-Fiction
  • Poetry
  • Art

The top three submissions, as judge by our staff, in Prose or Poetry will receive a cash prize.

Submission Guidelines:

  • All written work must be submitted as a Microsoft Word file (a PDF is allowed to see formatting, but a Word formatted file is required, too)
  • All artwork must submitted as a high resolution jpeg, TIFF, or PNG file
  • Your full official name as it appears in Banner must be included on a title page/cover page
  • A nickname or pseudonym may be used in the magazine
  • Email submissions to dilettantisubmissions@gmail.com
  • Please include name and category in subject line, and separate emails for each category
  • You must be an undergraduate student of The W during the current academic year. December graduates may still submit.

Submission deadline: February 20, 2026
