WConnect is the central portal you will use to connect to most online services at the university. From academic records to parking passes and online classes to student groups, WConnect is at the center of your digital experience at The W.
This process is best completed with the Chrome browser.
You'll find the WConnect button on the top of many pages on our website, including the university homepage. Clicking the WConnect button will take you to the WConnect login page.
There are a few steps, but you only have to go through this process once.
We've added one here to make it simple. This button will open WConnect in a new window, so you can follow the instructions here.
If you do not know your username, click the link for 'Lookup NetlD'.
Enter the following information, to retrieve your Net ID: First Name, Last Name, Birth Date, Social Security Number. After you click continue, you will see your Net ID. Remember this Net ID, you will need it in just a moment.
Now that you have a username, you can set up your account on WConnect. On the login screen, select 'First Time User' below the Login button.
Enter your Net ID you retrieved a moment ago. (This is usually the initial of your first and middle name, followed by your last name, but may also include numbers). If you need assistance, please contact the ITS department: (662) 329-7282. Our offices are open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
You will receive a series of prompts, first, enter you last name.
Next, enter your date of birth as an 8 digit number (mmddyyyy).
Next, you will create a password. You know how this works, create a strong password, unique to this account. (All your academic records and personal information will be behind this password. You really want to make it strong and unique!)
Here's what we need: at least 8 characters long (the longer, the better), you need to include at least three of the following: uppercase letter, lowercase letter, a number, and a special character.
We'll add extra layers of security with multifactor authentication in just a moment.
After you create your password, you will be redirected back to the WConnect login page. Sign in with your new credentials.
Your username is your Net ID and your password you just created.
Since you've never signed in before, WConnect will want to verify it's you. Sign in one more time with you new password.
You will only have to do this your first time.
Now you will select your options for multifactor authentication and password recovery, in case you forget or need to change your password. First, create your security questions and answers, then click Submit.
These questions and answers should not be something anyone could guess or find with a search of your social media account!
NO: Mother's Name; Pet's name; High school mascot.
YES: Your third favorite place in the world; Your sibling's embarrassing nickname (we won't tell).
Next, enter the email you will use for multifactor authentication codes and in the case of recovery or changing your password. Please use a non-MUW email account. Then click Verify. You will receive an email to the chosen account with a code. Input this code and select submit.
Finally, enter your mobile number (no dashes or spaces), select your carrier, and click verify. This will send a code to your phone, which you will then submit for verification.
Once verified, click My Applications at the bottom of the window.
Next, select one or more areas of interest, in which you would like to receive updates. These updates will appear as a feed in WConnect. Once you've made your selection, click Done. (You can change this later.)
This will bring you to the WConnect Quicklaunch page. From here you will have access to things such as Canvas (Classes), Your MyApps account (Google tools for you), Office 365 (you get free access to Word, Excel, etc.), Your W email, and Banner Web (your account and records).
