John McGee is focused on making the most of every opportunity. That’s why the junior agrees when asked if he is making up for lost time. From McGee’s perspective, his past experiences have shown him the importance of doing what he needs to do in the classroom to succeed on the field and abroad.

Thanks to the Peyton Scholarship, Francisco “Franco” Lopes had “the best summer of his life” and is pursuing his passion of teaching.

Meredith Woolbright enjoys traveling and the Peyton Scholarship made it possible to go further than ever before. Softball has paved the way for the Mississippi University for Women junior to visit numerous cities throughout the United States, but none of those trips impacted Woolbright like the one she took as a Peyton Scholar.

Chelsey Alanna Collins never imagined the opportunities available to her through education.

Collins believed financial concerns would limit her ability to pursue a college degree. But the encouragement and guidance of multiple educators, including two Mississippi University for Women professors, helped the Meridian native to broaden her horizons across the Atlantic Ocean.
