Carla Lowery
Carla Lowery is the Interim Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer for Mississippi University for Women. She has more than 30 years of experience in administration and higher education.
Lowery has served The W since 2001 holding various leadership positions. As a faculty member, Lowery taught various courses, including information systems using microcomputers, MIS projects and database applications.
She has served the university through numerous committees and councils including Enrollment Management Council, SACSCOC Steering Committee, Quality Enhancement Plan Selection Committee, President’s Cabinet, Academic Council and Administrative Council.
As Interim CFO, Lowery is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the university and oversee University Accounting, Resources Management, Facilities Management, Information Technology Services and Institutional Research and Assessment.
Lowery holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi State University and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Mississippi University for Women.
In addition to her experience and education, Lowery also has been recognized for her contributions to the field of higher education, including being awarded the Business Faculty Member of the Year in 2003 and 2006.
