Incoming Art Major Scholarships

The Department of Art & Design offers scholarship opportunities to all incoming art majors. Departmental scholarships are offered in addition to university scholarships a student may receive for academic merit. The amount of the award is based on a portfolio review of student works.

Your scholarship portfolio, featuring 12-15 recent works, must be submitted as a digital pdf file. You are encouraged to consult with your art teachers to assist in choosing works to submit.

Current Art Major Scholarships

The Department of Art & Design also provides scholarships awards to current art majors. The amount of the award is determined by a portfolio review of student works.

To be eligible for a departmental scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:

  • Be fully admitted to Mississippi University for Women
  • Have 2.5 overall GPA for transfer students
  • Enroll in 6 credit hours of art classes per semester of scholarship support (includes studio art and art history courses)
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester during scholarship period
