About Chris

Chris Jenkins began his career at The W in 1992 as the station engineer for WMUW 88.5 FM and a camera/switcher operator for the university’s distance learning classroom—a part of Mississippi Fibernet 2000, the nation’s first publicly switched fiber optic distance learning network. He began producing videos for the university in 1993.

In 1995, he took over as Coordinator of Distance Learning and Broadcast Operations, managing WMUW and the Fibernet 2000 classroom. In 1998, Chris moved to Public Affairs and began working in photography, where he has remained since. He is responsible for the university’s photography and video production needs. Chris has won numerous awards for his photography over the years, including the Grand Award from the College Public Relations Association of Mississippi in 2016.

Education: A.A.S. in Electronics Technology, East Mississippi Community College
