Support Mississippi Governor’s School
For more than 45 years, Mississippi Governor’s School has helped develop the next generation of leaders, educators, healthcare professionals, engineers, entrepreneurs, artists, researchers, and public servants.
Sponsored by the State of Mississippi, MGS provides a tuition-free residential honors experience for gifted high school students from across the state. As MGS continues to grow, partnerships with businesses, industries, foundations, and community organizations help create unique learning opportunities that connect scholars with Mississippi’s workforce, communities, and future.
Why Support MGS?
Today’s scholars are tomorrow’s workforce.
By supporting MGS, organizations have the opportunity to invest directly in talented young people who may one day become employees, community leaders, innovators, and decision-makers across Mississippi.
Support can take many forms, from financial contributions to hands-on learning experiences and industry partnerships.
Sponsor a Scholar

Community foundations, civic organizations, businesses, and local leaders can help ensure that talented students from their communities have access to life-changing opportunities.
Sponsorships can help support:
- Scholars from a specific county or region
- Students from underserved communities
- Travel assistance and program enhancements
- Future scholarship opportunities
We encourage community foundations and local partners to invest in the next generation of leaders from their hometowns.
Sponsor a Course or Learning Experience
Many MGS courses align directly with Mississippi’s workforce and economic development priorities.
Organizations may choose to support courses through guest speakers, facility tours, supplies, equipment, demonstrations, or financial contributions.
Examples include:
- A regional hospital sponsoring a healthcare, nursing, or medical sciences course
- A manufacturer supporting engineering, robotics, or design challenges
- A technology company sponsoring computer science or cybersecurity experiences
- An agricultural organization supporting environmental science or sustainability programming
- A financial institution supporting leadership, entrepreneurship, or economic development discussions
These partnerships help scholars connect classroom learning to real-world careers and industries.

Host a Facility Visit
One of the most memorable experiences for scholars is seeing innovation in action.
Businesses, industries, healthcare facilities, research centers, government agencies, and community organizations can partner with MGS to host educational visits, tours, demonstrations, or networking experiences.
These opportunities allow scholars to explore career pathways while learning more about the organizations shaping Mississippi’s future.
Sponsor a Meal or Special Event
Organizations may also choose to support the scholar experience through sponsorship of:
- Scholar meals
- Networking receptions
- Buses or vans for travel
- Leadership events
- Service projects
- Special speakers
- Scholar recognition programs
- Recreational and community-building activities
These experiences often become some of the most memorable moments of the MGS summer.
Donate Through the MUW Foundation
Financial contributions help strengthen programming, expand opportunities, and support the future of Mississippi Governor’s School. While we do receive state appropriations, there are many items (such as scholar backpacks or medallions) that we must pay for separately.
Donations may be made through the Mississippi University for Women Foundation and designated to:
