Day of the Dead sugar skulls

Our celebration of this Mexican tradition is back with our annual Day of the Dead altar.  Students in Professor Erinn Holloway’s Spanish class will give a gallery talk about the tradition in front of the installation.

We are adding Guatemalan Day of the Dead kites to the celebration this year.  Kite-making workshops will open to university students.  After the conclusion of all workshops, we will have a ‘flight day’ to show off the colorful creations.  Finally, teams of art students will compete to make the most outstanding large-scale kite.

October 20, 2023 – November 3, 2023

Gallery talk: November 1, noon
Kite-making workshops / ‘flight day’: TBA
Winners will be announced on Monday, October 30 at 5:30.
