Born in Union, Mississippi, Terrell Taylor has had an eclectic life and academic career. While studying Art, she received a BS and MS in Anthropology from the University of Southern Mississippi, in Hattiesburg. Afterward, Taylor did Archaeology with the National Park Service at many locations in the Southeast United States.
Later she taught at a High School and Community College in Guayaquil, Ecuador, South America, using her skills in Art, Anthropology and ESL. She returned to school after her arrival home in Mississippi, receiving a Masters of Art Education, with an emphasis in Printmaking and Sculpture at the University of Southern Mississippi.
After collecting this studio education degree, she continued in academia to earn an MFA degree in Painting and Photography from The University of Alabama, in Tuscaloosa, while working adjunct teaching at Shelton State Community College. She now teaches art, and is curator of the gallery at Meridian Community College, in Meridian, Mississippi.
Taylor shows her work both regionally and abroad.
