Honors College Admissions

Centennial and Honors Award recipients are automatically admitted to the Honors College, must participate in the Residential Honors Program, and must remain members in good standing.

Presidential Award recipients (both freshmen and transfers) are automatically qualified to enroll in the Honors College and only need to contact the Honors College to formalize their admission. 

 

Other Freshmen

Other entering freshmen may apply for admission with a minimum ACT score of 24 or SAT score of 1090.

After completing at least one semester at MUW, students may apply to enter the Honors College on the basis of a GPA of 3.4 or above. No student will be admitted after the sophomore year.

To apply, send the following to the Director of the Gordy Honors College:

• honors application available at Honors College Forms

• at least one letter of recommendation from an individual who can speak to the student’s academic record and ability to complete an honors curriculum

Accepted students must take the Four-Year Honors Curriculum.

 

Other Transfer Students

Transfer students may apply to enter the Honors College on the basis of a GPA of 3.4 or above.  Only transfer students may enter the Honors College after the sophomore year. No student may enter in the senior year. 

To apply, send the following to the Director of the Gordy Honors College:

• transfer application available at Honors College Forms 

• at least one letter of support from an individual who can speak to the student’s academic record and ability to complete an honors curriculum

Accepted transfer students must take the Transfer Honors Curriculum.
