Message from the President: Fall 2025

Dear Alumni and Friends,
As the holiday season approaches, I find myself reflecting with gratitude on the vibrant community that surrounds and sustains Mississippi University for Women. Our alumni and friends, our students, faculty and staff —each of you plays a vital role in shaping this university’s story and success. Thank you for the many ways you support and boldly champion The W.
One of the unique aspects of our campus community is our ongoing partnership with Th e Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science. We are proud to host MSMS here at The W and remain firmly committed to continuing this partnership. Their presence adds youth, richness and distinction to our campus and this community. We value their contributions to our shared academic environment, and we will continue to advocate facilities improvements for their use.
There’s nothing quite like being on a university campus in the fall. From the energy of move-in day and the excitement of the first classes, to fall athletics, the Welty Writers’ Symposium and Gala, concerts and Oktoberfest, this season reminds us why we love what we do—and who we do it for.
Our accomplishments continue to be recognized nationally. Washington Monthly, U.S. News & World Report and the “Great Colleges to Work For” program— where we’ve been honored for 13 consecutive years— continue to affirm what we already know: The W is a special place where excellence and opportunity meet.
And we’re not resting on our laurels. We continue to graduate students who are heads above the rest—graduates who are stepping up to meet critical workforce needs. Whether they’re entering the classroom, the hospital or a speech and hearing therapy clinic, our alumni are making an impact across Mississippi and beyond.
As always, thank you for being part of The W family. Wishing you and yours a joyful and meaningful holiday season!
Warmly,
Nora Roberts Miller, Class of 1983
President
