Disclaimer: The total amounts listed above are an estimate based on 2023-24 tuition and fees. Actual tuition and fees may vary over time as they change each year. The number of full-time and part-time hours in your program also make a difference. Students may take additional residency classes as electives, in which case the room and board costs would be higher. All other fees are now included in tuition. Transportation costs to residencies and costs for books and supplies should also be factored into your total cost of attendance.

Explanation of Tuition and Fees

  • Annual tuition will depend on the number of courses enrolled in each semester
  • Full-time graduate school tuition for 9-13 hours is $3,996.00 per semester + a $50 capital improvement fee.
  • If you attend part-time (1-8 hours per semester), you pay tuition based on the number of hours at $444.00 per hour + $5.56/hour capital improvement fee.

The W does not charge out-of-state fees. All students pay the same tuition regardless of their state of residence.

The total cost of tuition, spread over 2-3 years should range between $17,584 and $22,979 at the tuition rates for 2023-24, depending on whether you are mostly part-time or full-time. If you are part-time, it may take 3 or more years to complete the program. By taking more than 9 hours per semester, you can save on tuition, since the tuition is the same for 9-13 hours. The lowest tuition would be for 3 semesters of 13 hours and 9 additional part-time/summer hours, though this may not be possible for every student. By going at a slower, part-time pace, you may be able to afford tuition without taking on loans, saving money on interest in the long run.

Full and Short Residency fees cover room and board. For on-campus residencies, we house students in dormitories or at Plymouth Bluff Center, depending on availability. Room and board for the short residency at Plymouth Bluff will be approximately $390 and room and board for the full residency on campus will be approximately $330. The summer short residency will also be housed in the dorms when on campus, bringing the cost down to approximately $170. Students with local housing options may qualify for a waiver of the room fee. When we go to the AWP Conference for the short residency, there are no room and board fees, though you find your own transportation, housing, and food. Therefore, we estimate the total for room and board fees for 2 full and 2 short residencies as $1,400. We will always try to keep costs as low as possible and bill you only for room and board or other actual costs associated with a residency.
