As a chemistry major, you will be taking chemistry courses that range from organic chemistry to physical chemistry to biochemistry and introduction to pharmaceutical sciences. Chemistry graduates take various paths after graduation which include professional schools (medical, pharmacy, dental, veterinary), graduate study, and employment in science-related positions. Secondary Education Track

Students who wish to teach physical science in middle school or high school can choose the teaching certificate track. You will take teacher training courses in addition to your subject classes. Upon graduation, you will have earned a secondary education license in the state of Mississippi.
