Departmental Mission

The Department of Languages, Literature, and Philosophy provides a broad liberal arts education for allstudents. Our courses emphasize reading, writing, and critical thinking as well as discovering and using information. Students who are majors in English, Foreign Languages, or Philosophy should learn to analyze written material with accuracy and understanding, to write clearly and correctly about a subject in a major field, to perform scholarly research on a topic in a major field in a format specific to the field, and to gain an understanding of a major field as it connects to the world at large.

The department's web pages are maintained by Kendall Dunkelberg. Please email me with questions, comments, or suggestions.
