\u00a0In\u00a0Talking Pillow,\u00a0<\/em>Ball channels the unexpected loss of her partner to explore the depths of love before and after death intervenes, creating a work that is, according to David Lehman, \u201cas intimate as a dream.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0Ball\u2019s other collections of poetry include\u00a0Vixie, Quartet, POSSESSION, Kneeling Between Parked Cars,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Night Clerk at the Hotel of Both Worlds<\/em>, which was the winner of the Donald Hall Prize and the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters Award for Poetry.\u00a0<\/strong>Ball directs the Center for Writers at the University of Southern Mississippi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
