Mike Smith, Associate Professor of English at Delta State, will read from his memoir, And There was Evening and There was Morning, <\/em>in which he recounts his journey through grief after first wife’s diagnosis with terminal breast cancer and the subsequent cancer diagnosis of his step-daughter from his second marriage.Smith is also a poet, whose books include Pocket Guide to Another Earth,<\/em> Byron in Baghdad, How to Make a Mummy, <\/em>and Multiverse. <\/em>He has also co-edited and translated Contemporary Chinese Short-Short Stories: A Parallel Text <\/em>and translated Goethe\u2019s Faust, Part I. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
