Adam Vines returns with his collection of ekphrastic poetry, Out of Speech<\/em>, exploring the interactions of people and art.<\/em> A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Vines first came to the symposium with The Coal Life,<\/em> a collection about early 20th-Century Alabama mining camps. Since then, he has collaborated on two collections with Allen Jin, According to Discretion <\/em>and Day Kink<\/em>. Vines teaches poetry at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he is Director of the English Honors program and editor of the Birmingham Poetry Review<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
