On behalf of the MUW Foundation Board of Directors, I want to express my thoughts of care and concern for the W Family during this time. Just a few short months ago, we could not have imagined the toll a worldwide public health crisis would place on us, our families and friends and the university community. It is with tremendous gratitude that I write to acknowledge the thoughtful response from so many.
As I am finalizing this letter, our country is facing a wave of issues that challenge the depths of our beliefs, justice for our fellow citizens and our abilities to communicate and support each other in a truly meaningful way. In our work through the MUW Foundation, we believe our efforts can continue to guide and to help our campus community educate each other and those around us.
President Nora Miller and her team are demonstrating the exceptional leadership we have come to expect from professionals on the campus. Faculty are continuing to explore innovative teaching methods to adapt the classroom experience to new circumstances. Staff are adjusting to changing situations with flexibility and creative solutions. Alumni and friends are keeping informed and offering much-needed support. For the dedication of so many as we all work to help our students succeed, we are grateful.
In the face of so many challenges, we remain very optimistic for the future. The history of The W teaches us that this is a resilient institution with an unwavering commitment to our core educational values. With the support of our alumni and friends, the university will emerge even stronger after weathering these times together.
I thank you for your contributions to the MUW Foundation and hope that you are able to join me in continuing to give this fiscal year to help the university provide exceptional educational experiences for our students. If you have not made MUW a priority in your charitable giving considerations, I encourage you to join me by making a gift, no matter what size. Our gifts not only will help sustain The W during this challenging time, but also help our students thrive.
The 2020-2021 year is my fourth and final year to serve as chair of the MUW Foundation Board of Directors. It continues to be such an honor and a privilege to serve my alma mater in such a meaningful way. Re-connecting with old friends, meeting new friends, learning about the university and students of today and giving back are so rewarding. As you know, being a part of The W is always special, and our support makes it special for others.
Until we are able to gather safely on our beautiful campus, I wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you soon.
