The W continues to aim high each year to reach its goals. As a partner with the university, the MUW Foundation has prioritized its support for efforts to attract top students, recruit and retain top faculty and staff, engage the larger community in campus initiatives and provide state-of-the-art resources for teaching and learning. With the current challenges created by the COVID-19 outbreak, your gifts to the MUW Foundation are appreciated more than ever before.

As you know, resources are needed to achieve these important institutional goals. Think of the technology needed to provide high-quality educational experiences, the costs to maintain the beautiful campus, and the need for scholarships with more than 85% of our students receiving some type of financial aid.

Our gifts strengthen all that is extraordinary at The W, especially the commitment of faculty and staff, the desire students have to achieve their dreams and the dedication to a diverse and inclusive campus community. With our private support, whether individual or corporate, we strengthen the longstanding tradition of excellence for which the university has been known since 1884. As chairman of the MUW Foundation Board of Directors, I am compelled to support The W for two main reasons. One, I strongly believe in The W, its leadership, the importance of the university’s mission and vision, the talents of our faculty and staff and the bright futures of our students. I also believe that alumni play a critical role in giving back to the institution that shaped our lives.

Two, as a graduate and now as a volunteer, I feel personally grateful to The W for the opportunities it has given me both personally and professionally. My education greatly enhanced my career, and being a part of the campus as a student and an alumna has greatly enriched my life. All these years after graduation, I am still learning and growing thanks to my involvement with our university.

I hope that you are as proud as I am to be associated with The W whether you are an alum, a faculty or staff member, a friend, a community leader or a current student. We all are part of a successful university making a positive difference in our world. Please join me in supporting these efforts to reach our goals with your gift to the MUW Foundation this fiscal year. Together, we make a difference each day at The W.

Sincerely,

Jayne Perkins-Brown, Class of 1977 Chairman MUW Foundation Board of Directors
