Dear Alumni and Friends;

On March 22-25, 2018, The Long Blue Line came home to celebrate reunions and friendship. Homecoming is an opportunity to connect with our friends and classmates, revisit our historic university and witness the many wonderful things that are happening at The W. We honored the Class of 1968 Golden Girls, cheered on the MUW softball and baseball teams at an Owls Tailgate, supported our Legacy Scholarship and Faculty Awards by attending the Long Blue Line Auction Gala, recognized some of our distinguished alumni and faculty with awards at Convocation and attended a special presentation in honor of Peppy Biddy’s retirement.

We also said farewell to Dr. Borsig, a man of vision, who has worked hard these past seven years to secure the future of The W. His love for the institution is evident in his interactions with the faculty, staff, students and alumni. He has worked tirelessly to restore our beloved alma mater to the glory she deserves. Thank you Dr. Borsig for all you have done to strengthen The W. We wish you well in your next chapter of life!

This year as your president, I’ve had the privilege to participate in commencements, Mag Chain, 100th Night, BLUE, interact with students and visit The W often. It has been 40 years since I graduated from MUW and this year allowed me to reflect on my four years each time I visited campus. The W provided me a unique experience along with a solid education that helped me grow into a strong and confident woman. My visits also took me back to 100 years ago when my grandmother, Courtney Lucius Best, walked these grounds and to reminisce about the stories she told of her time at II&C. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as MUWAA president! It has been a blessing and enriching experience for me.

As our Association continues to grow, I encourage you to become involved. You can make a difference by sharing your time, talent and treasure, by joining an MUWAA chapter and/or committee, donating to the MUW Foundation and/or attending MUWAA sponsored events.

If you or a family member feel that the education you received at Mississippi University for Women is one of the reasons you are successful at what you do, I ask you to “Pay It Forward” and allow another student to have that experience also. I truly believe that The W made that kind of difference in my life. As always, I enjoy reading about the remarkable people and experiences that make The W a special university. I hope you will agree with me that we have much to celebrate because of the generosity of alumni and friends who believe in this university. Become an active member by making a contribution of any amount at

With W spirit and pride,
