Diversity Programs

The Office of Student Life delivers diversity education and programs to provide a welcoming and supportive environment for minority populations and serves as a link between culturally diverse students and the University community.

Our goal is to promote education and self-reflection in order to have an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful campus where each individual values differences including race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, economic background, age, ability, and religious preference.

Diversity programming is provided to the campus community in a variety of ways. Our past and present initiatives and co-sponsorhips promote awareness and inclusiveness through active and passive programing, which includes but is not limited to the following:

  • LGBTQAA programing events such asTie-Dye as an Ally, and an INCLUSIVE Conversation
  • Black History Month educational events like a traveling museum, guest lectures, musical performances
  • Women’s History Month educational events include spoken word artist performances
  • Diversity Week events such as the Festival of Colors, Hunger Banquet, HIV/AIDS Awareness Week, and the DisABILITY Awareness Exerience

Trainings, workshops, and resources for students, faculty, and staff are available upon request by contacting the Office of Student Life.
