{"id":25,"date":"2023-09-12T12:59:38","date_gmt":"2023-09-12T17:59:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.muw.edu\/staffcouncil\/?page_id=25"},"modified":"2023-09-12T12:59:38","modified_gmt":"2023-09-12T17:59:38","slug":"textbookscholarship","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.muw.edu\/staffcouncil\/textbookscholarship\/","title":{"rendered":"Staff Council Textbook Scholarship"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Staff Council Textbook Scholarship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">The Staff Council provides funding to help staff cover the cost of textbooks for W courses. &nbsp;The scholarship maximum is $250 to any one applicant in a single semester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Criteria to be considered for the Textbook Scholarship:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You must be a permanent full-time, non-faculty employee or a part-time, non-faculty employee of Mississippi University for Women to be considered for a textbook scholarship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Priority will be given to first-time applicants.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Priority given to degree seekers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Must be enrolled in a for-credit course at The W. Audited courses are not eligible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Priority will be given to full-time and part-time staff members with an annual salary of $35,000 or less.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In order to be considered for the scholarship for a consecutive semester, you must successfully pass all courses in which you were enrolled in for the previous semester.&nbsp; (ie. Must pass all Fall courses to be considered for a Spring scholarship.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit the Staff Council Textbook Scholarship Application available on the Staff Council website.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applications will be accepted until all funds are awarded.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A gift card not to exceed $250 will be awarded for use at the MUW Barnes and Noble bookstore.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Please note: The deadline to apply for the Textbook Scholarship is one week (5 business days) before classes begin.
